Errol Morris tries to crack Paul Rumsfield and make him acknowledge his culpability for the Iraq War in Morris' latest talking head interview project, The Unknown Known.
The title comes from an old memo that Rumsfeld sent out to his staff during his time as the Secretary Of Defense outlining the difference between known knowns, known unknowns, unknown unknowns and unknown knowns. The only one on his staff that understood it all was probably Rumsfield himself.
It's the kind of circular political answer that seems like the answer to the answer you asked but is not really the answer to your answer at all. See how easy it is to do?
The Unknown Known had its premier at TIFF 2013.
