"My head is literally going to explode if I don't see it soon," said one local woman about the anticipation of waiting for Breaking Bad's final episode to air. (her head, as far as we know, has not yet exploded).

But people are going crazy, literally, forgoing sleep, human contact, food and even the Internet as they sit in dark rooms rocking quietly and counting the minutes (possibly the seconds) till Sunday night's farewell episode of the hit series.

Those who had not yet discovered the series were calling in sick to work all week to pursue marathon screenings of the series in order to be all caught up for the final act on Sunday.

Series creator Vince Gilligan was in town this week attending VIFF (Vancouver International Film Festival). When asked if he was concerned that his series, about a chemistry teacher becoming a dealer in the highly addictive drug methamphetamine, was becoming highly addictive to viewers he simply stared coldly at us for an awkwardly long moment then said, "What's my name?"

We were a little intimidated so we stopped asking questions.
