With the Doctor Strange movie coming out in Marvel’s Phase 3, Will we be getting the Defenders as well? For those of you who might not know, the Defenders are a “non-Team” made up of Individuals who usually fight Supernatural Foes that one Hero alone cannot handle.

They are primarily led by Doctor Strange and have at different times had the Hulk, Prince Namor (The Sub Mariner) Hellcat and Nighthawk on their team. This would actually give the Hulk more screen time if he is not getting another Solo film in phase 3. The Hulk could leave the Avengers (like he does in the comics) and join up with Doctor Strange.

Other “Honorary” members include Daredevil, Luke Cage, Black Knight and Valkyrie. These are all characters that Marvel Studios owns and can showcase through the Defenders. So, what do you think? Is this a good way to re-introduce characters like Daredevil and give other characters like the Hulk more time on screen?

Marvel has stated that Doctor Strange will be a lead character in Phase 3, much the way Iron-Man/Tony Stark has led the franchise in the 1st two phases.

The Defenders will show Doctor Strange as the leader and mentor to other heroes (Really wish Spider-Man could be a part of this as he worked with Doctor Strange a lot in the comics) It would be fun to showcase the other lesser-known heroes such as Hellcat and Nighthawk or even Black Knight. Hopefully, when Phase 3 kicks in (post Avengers 2 in 2015) We will see what Marvel has up its’ Sleeve.
