Big hair, chest hair, facial hair, long hair are the highlight for the first posters for David O Russell's Abscam inspired drama American Hustle. Hustle tells the scandalous story of con-man Irving Rosenfeld (Christian Bale) and his British partner/lover, Sydney Prosser (Amy Adams), who are coerced into working with federal agent Richie DiMaso (Cooper).

The five Oscar nominated stars Bale, Adams, Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper and Jeremy Renner definitely exude '70's attitude. Renner is the only new member in the O Russell rotating cast troupe. Cooper and Lawrence teamed in Silver Linings Playbook, Bale and Adams starred in The Fighter.

As can be seen from the posters, The age of Disco was great for women's fashion but a bad time for men's. Bale's blue velvet tux; Cooper's gold chains and polyester shirt, pants and pinky ring; Renner's wide tie and equally wide lapels scream power suits mated with cheesy macho posturing that was the decade's dominant male attitude. The dawning of female liberation/sexual revolution free women's fashion from the tyranny of the bra and panty line. Lawrence's hot as silk low-cut dress and Adams' spangle jump suit are unafraid to let it all hang out.

American Hustle opens Christmas Day.
