A little surprising, but it could be oh so cool…

Radar Online is reporting that Curb Your Enthusiasm‘s Larry David is in talks for a role in the upcoming Batman vs Superman film. And not just any role, but the role of a villain. And not just any villain, but the role of Mr. Mxyzptlk. If this comes off, it could be absolutely fantastic.

Mr. Mxyzptlk is basically a prankster from the fifth dimension that looks like a cross between your granddad and a leprechaun, oh, and he has some unusually mystic powers that he uses to generally make a fool of Superman. The best way to combat him is to make him say his name backwards.

As for David, he was previously up for the role of the Vulture in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man series, but that fell apart for various reasons.

Expect more on this as it develops.

Oh, and for the eagle-eyed amongst you, it appears now that the Man of Steel sequel is now being officially referred to as Batman vs Superman. By ‘officially,’ clearly I don’t actually mean official. Not yet, anyways.
