In the first trailer for Stuart Beattie's I, Frankenstein the monster actually gets a name, Adam Frankenstein. Adam like the first man, suitably symbolic for this not your average Mary Shelley lumbering, green skin creation who in true graphic novel fashion (based on the popular Kevin Grevioux series) was created to be the decisive weapon in humanity's war with the underworld-- those of the demon and not of the criminal kind. Talk about stitching together an action hero!
Speaking of Underworld Grevioux helped create that, allowing Kate Beckinsale's encapsulated Vampira action clone to become the stuff of fan boys wet dreams. A ripped Aaron Eckhart gets to provide the same stimulation for the fan girls. There is just enough surgery scars on Eckhart face to keep him bad boy sexy and enough topless battle scenes with blades and swords to prove it.
Miranda Otto is the affective leader of the demonic Gargoyles and former Chuck girlfriend Yvonne Strahovski is the potential lumbering Frankenstein love interest. She utters soothing plot themes like "You're only a monster if you behave like one."
Bill Nighy shows up to further deepen the Underworld connection.
Stuart Beattie directs, the imagineer responsible for the character side of The Pirates of the Caribbean series.
I, Frankenstein opens January 14, 2014.
