Ever since Ben Affleck was cast as Batman, people have been complaining on the internet ever since. But hold on guys, maybe this can actually be a good thing. Maybe this was Warner Bros. plan all along. What if he wasn't just chosen to be Batman in "Man of Steel 2"? What if he also chosen to direct the next series of Batman movies? Think about it. WARNING: this hasn't been confirmed, I'm simply giving out an idea of mine.
You might remember the news that he was in talks to direct "The Justice League" movie, but he turned it down. And now it seems that Zack Snyder will be directing it, which I'm honestly not thrilled about at all. Is it a coincidence that he was cast as Batman after turning down "The Justice League"? To me, it isn't at all, I think this was Warner Bros. plan from the start.
Ben Affleck directing the new Batman movies would be great, and it could really be the best thing to come in this DC Cinematic Universe. He would be a way better choice to direct the franchise than Zack Snyder. I honestly don't think that Zack could ever do a good job on the entire universe. Okay, I thought "Man of Steel" was a pretty decent movie, but it wasn't as spectacular as I wanted it to be, you know. We could've gotten any director to direct this universe. Like, Steven Spielberg, Brad Bird, Robert Zemeckis, Neil Blomkamp, and heck, even Peter Jackson. But we got stuck with the guy that directed "Sucker Punch" and "The Owls of Ga'Hoole".
Just look at "The Town", and "Argo", which Ben Aflleck acted and directed. Both of which were critically acclaimed, nominated for a ton of awards, and one of them even won a Best Picture Oscar.
I know nothing will ever beat Nolan's films, to me, or anyone else, it just can't happen. But if we are going to reboot Superman, should'nt we also have a Batman reboot, with Batman's own adventures? It just comes down to two questions. Who would you rather have to direct the Batman reboot, Zack Snyder, the guy who turned "Watchmen" into a freaking Mountain Dew commercial? Or Ben Affleck, the guy who takes his work seriously, and has two FREAKING Oscars? Ben Affleck is the obvious choice for me. I seriously doubt that Warner Bros. would be dumb enough to give their greatest franchise to Zack. It's just my opinion, don't get mad.
If there IS going to be a reboot, I would like to give a suggestion. Have Nick Arundel and Ron Fish to do the score. I know we all liked the Hans Zimmer score from the Nolan movies, but this is a reboot. If the director is changing, then shouldn't the score change as well? Nick and Ron did a fantastic job with "Arkham Asylum" and "Arkham City". Just listen to the main theme from the second game. You will literally say, "Holy crap! This is everything that Batman is in one theme song!" Check it out!
Pretty freaking awesome right?
So what do you think? Should Ben Affleck direct, as well as act, in the Batman reboot, or not? Let me know in the comments down below. Please nothing negative. Just a reminder, this hasn't been confirmed, I'm just giving out my ideas and thoughts, this is STRICTLY an opinion. Thank you for reading.
