The Monuments Men is a film set during World War II following seven art folks in their quest to protect art amid the war.

With orders from the fallen German army to destroy everything, FDR puts to task a platoon composed of people not with military but art backgrounds -- "an architect from Chicago, a sculptor,a director of design at the School of Fine Arts and a few other experts in various fields of art" -- to find and safeguard masterpieces stolen by the Nazis.

The stars picked to accomplish this mission include George Clooney (who co-wrote and directed the film), Matt Damon, Bill Murray, John Goodman, Jean Dujardin, Bob Balaban, Hugh Bonneville, and Cate Blanchett.

Consider it Oceans 1940 sans Brad Pitt. It's looks like a nice film though. The Monuments Men hits theaters December 18, 2013.
