As Edgar Wright's Ant-Man is set to kick off Marvel's Phase Three of films, things need to start moving the sooner the better for the flick. Well, Variety is reporting on the current front-runners for the role of Hank Pym, aka Ant-Man.

The two top picks for Marvel Studios right now are none other than Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Paul Rudd. It's being claimed that there may also be a third name in the running - let the Simon Pegg rumours start again - but no more is known at that at this stage. The same reports claims that Marvel are looking to meet with each actor individually before making a final decision.

Personally, as a Rudd fan dating back to Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, I'd love to see him get the call for Pym. Yes, most people associate him with humorous roles, but I think he could give an awesome, troubled Henry Pym. Sure, Gordon-Levitt is a better actor, but I'd just prefer Paul Rudd to be given the chance.

Directed by Edgar Wright, with a script by Wright and Joe Cornish, Ant-Man is currently on target for a 31st July, 2015 release. Before that, though, there's quite a few other Marvel properties set to hit screen, with Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Age of Ultron all on the way.
