It was being reported earlier this week that Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Paul Rudd are two of the front-runners for the lead role in Marvel’s Ant-Man. Well, promoting Don Jon, JGL has been speaking to the French version of The Huffington Post about the rumours. Now, with it being a French publication, the report is actually in French. Not to worry, for those of you that left the French language behind with your high school days, there’s an English translation underneath.
For the non-French speaking amongst you, this roughly translates to, “There is always a lot of rumours around these projects, and so far it’s still only discussions. I’m always very transparent when it comes to me roles and my career. I’m usually the first to speak and communicate with my fans if something happens. If you hear nothing from me, they’re just rumours.”
So, Gordon-Levitt mentions that there may have been discussions, but he’s still not saying too much.
Expect more on this as it develops, although I’d expect Hank Pym/Ant-Man to be cast in the next month or so.
Directed by Edgar Wright, with a script by Wright and Joe Cornish, Ant-Man is currently on target for a 31st July, 2015 release. Before that, though, there’s quite a few other Marvel properties set to hit screen, with Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Age of Ultron all on the way.
