Some heroes like Superman can fly and others, like Quicksilver, have super speed. But what happens when you are a Superhero without these abilities? You need a vehicle to move fast! And this is the list with the best of them.
NOTE: Only machines in the list! So you will not find Silver Surfer's board. Also, the owners of the vehicles must be Superheroes or Supervillains so the Shield helicarrier isn't here too.
10. SEBASTIAN SHAW'S SUBMARINE ( X-men: First class, 2011 )
As the name suggests, the submarine was the underwater vehicle of Sebastian Saw, the leader of the Hellfire club. Very comfortable submarine and difficult to locate, it was the basis of operations of the team. And although it is an awesome conveyance for an evil mastermind, the submarine isn't the most iconic between the others in this list, so I place it in the tenth place.
9. THE FANTASTICAR ( Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer,2007)
The Fantasticar is the vehicle that is used by the Superhero team known as the Fantastic Four. It was created by Reed Richards and it has a “photon accelerator” and an “ion generator” for propulsion, it’s bullet proof, and it can fly. With that the members of the team that can't fly can reach the enemy faster. It is a great vehicle, but I prefer others with better design.
8.BLACK ZERO ( Man of Steel, 2013 )
Named by the comic book Kryptonian villain Black Zero and designed by Jor-El, Black Zero was used by General Dru-Zod and hosted a large number of Kryptonians such as Faora and Jax-Ur and also it was the one that blasted the gravity beam.
7.THE GOBLIN GLIDER ( Spider-Man, 2002, Spider-Man 3, 2007)
The glider is a military contract developed by Oscorp. It's weapon array includes machine guns and rockets. The first form of the Glider was used by Norman Osborn, the Green Goblin and then his son used a more streamlined version of his father's glider - a snowboard-like flying device referred to in promotional material as the Sky Stick. It has two air rotors and a mini jet like engine that can swivel to propel the Sky Stick in any direction (controls most horizontal movement). It also includes a flamethrower, blades and seeking missiles, and is capable of delivering Pumpkin Bombs to Harry using a method of shooting them into the air at arm's height when a hand reaches the port. Both of the Gliders have the ability to kill their owners.
6. BATPOD ( The Dark Knight, 2008, The Dark Knight Rises, 2012)
The Batpod is The Dark Knight's version of the Batcycle. It is intended as a kind of "escape pod" integrated into the Tumbler, it also served an auxiliary vehicle. Armed with dual front-mounted cannons, machine guns, and grappling hooks, the Batpod affords Batman greater mobility at the cost of some protection. It was very useful to both Batman and Catwoman to save the city.
5.X-JET ( X-men film series )
The X-Jet is the replacement of the Blackbird in the movies. It was so popular that after the first movie, Blackbird was named X-Jet, attempting to connect the cinematic universe with the comics. Fast, big and armed with the latest technology creations the X-Jet is a really useful and iconic Superhero vehicle.
4. HELLCYCLE ( Ghost Rider, 2007, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, 2012 )
Hellcycle is the flaming motorbike of Ghost Rider. A very fast and powerful weapon, this "baby" is Blaze's best ally.It goes like the clappers, can leap almost anywhere, can drive up buildings, bomb it over water, and remains continuously on fire.
3.THE BAT ( The Dark Knight Rises )
The Bat is the name given to the aircraft operated by Batman in The Dark Knight Rises. The features of the Bat are:
Dual-anchored machine guns function as a deterrent
Dual-mounted floodlights Emp cannon which fires bursts to disrupt electronic transmissions Rocket launchers Two-person cockpit design, which gives the pilot maximum control
And it also saved the day by canceling the bomb apocalypse! Pity that was destroyed...
2.THE BLACK BEAUTY ( Green Hornet, 2011 )
I'm not the biggest fan of the Green Hornet, but his car is one of the best and most iconic in Superhero movies. The Black Beauty, a 1964-1966 Chrysler Imperial, is a car like no other. It boasts a GM Performance ZZ454 500hp crate motor and Race Trans Turbo 400 manual valve body transmission. It also has mini guns that pop out of the hood, a suicide doors with 12-Gauge AR-15 machine guns, a mini gun in the boot, a m2 flamethrower in the front grill, 12 front and rear stinger missiles, giant spikes that come out of the wheels and it is bulletproof. The best ally for a non-superpowered superhero. And it lost the first place only because of...
1. THE BATMOBILE ( The Batman Film Series )
No other car is as cool and iconic as the Batmobile. One of the most famous and advanced ( Superhero ) vehicles, Batmobile has changed forms through the years. From the 1960's one which has an incredible large variety of gadgets to the awesome and more serious Burton Batmobile. And we must not forget the "Black Tank" form in the Dark Knight trilogy. The weapons and the technology gadgets hidden in this fast black lightning are far more than every other vehicle, including lasers, rockets, a Batphone, a radar, a mobile Batcomputer, a smoke emitter, a Bat-tering ram, a rear-facing camera, a police beacon, two parachutes (for performing 180 degree “bat-turns”), a voice control Batmobile Relay Unit, and of course, the Bat-ray, which can do just about anything (1960 version).
Now the Tim Burton version has fully-functioning gas turbine (good for 15 seconds’ worth of ozone-destroying, high-speed madness), two Browning machine guns, a grappling hook (useful for sharp turns), a Batdisc ejector, smoke emitters, oil slick guns, and, of course, bulletproof shielding. Plus, in Batman Returns, the Batmobile can jettison its sides and transform into a “Batmissile” so it can blast through tighter alleyways and the like.
And the Nolan one, known as the Bat Tumbler, for the end! Devices included :
Twin forward-firing machine guns Six rear flaps to assist brakes
Landing hook to Sprung landing stabilization
Integrated fire-extinguishing system
Integrated safety connection to gasoline control
Vector-controlled jet engine on back of car for quick boosts/"rampless" jumps
Stealth mode, which turns off the car's lights and cuts the engine. The vehicle is powered by an electric motor, making it very hard to find in dark places (which makes the mode most useful at night), and as demonstrated by the car chase in Batman Begins, can easily throw off pursuers.
Explosive mines are deployed from the rear of the vehicle, which can take out any cars that make contact with them.
Front of car is heavily armored, so the car can ram as a practical offensive attack, and also protects the driver while in the prone driving position/"Attack" mode
Both front wheels can eject when the vehicle is damaged to form the Batpod
Do you agree with my list? Which one is your favorite? This is only MY OPINION so feel free to comment your personal changes in the list. Next week comes another awesome Superhero list.
