With the recent announcement that Avatar 2 will start filming in about a year from now, and James Cameron is doing the finishing touches, the sequel seems to finally be moving forward and starting somewhere.

The last time we saw Colonel Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang) he was being shot with an arrow and dying with a creepy smile on his face.

But that is not the last of the Colonel!

Here's what Cameron says: "I’m not going to say exactly HOW we’re bringing him back, but it’s a science fiction story, after all. His character will evolve into really unexpected places across the arc of our new three-film saga. I really look forward to working with such a gifted actor, who’s also become a good friend.”

This will either make you cheer in joy or yell on the internet message boards in frustration. Either way--it's happening.

Though let's hope Quaritch isn't Jake's father.

Avatar 2 will be released sometime in 2016.
