Kevin Feige (Marvel Studios President of Production) revealed in an interview that Edgar Wright's film version of Antman will be a "Heist" movie. Feige also re-affirmed that Wright is going into the Marvel office every day now to work on the film.
He also said that maybe for the holidays we might be hearing who the Ant Man or maybe AntMEN will be.
“[Edgar Wright] is working on just sort of tweaking the drafts with Joe Cornish,” said Feige. “Who is now a big director in his own right of course. And we’re crewing up and prepping, and there should be some cast announcements probably before the end of the year.”
With Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz , The World's End, He also co-wrote and directed the 2010 film Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Along with Joe Cornish) At the helm of this you're probably wondering, Will this be more of a comedy?
“I think it will be very Edgar Wright in tone, but I think it’s a disservice to Edgar to just say, ‘Oh, it’s a comedy,” as we’re often asked about. He wants to do something very unique with it. In the way that Alan did something very unique in the Dark World. And Edgar, early on going back years and years when he first was pitching it, pitched it as much as a heist movie as anything else.”
Could this mean that they plan to use the “To Steal Ant-Man” storyline, which means Scott Lang could be Ant-Man? Edgar Wright has already said that Hank Pym will be part of the movie, but he’s never said for certain if Pym is the central Ant-Man in the movie and wikipedia has this interesting little definition that someone put in-
"A live-action film, featuring Henry Pym and Scott Lang, Ant-Man, is scheduled to be released on July 31, 2015"
I guess it would make sense seeing as how he won't be the creator of Ultron in the next Avengers pic. It would also set up a "passing of the mantle" theme for future films when actors get too old or are tired of playing the part. Or maybe Yellowjacket will be buzzin' into Avengers 3?
So if this is the case Who should be Hank Pym? Who would be Scott Lang? Let me know below.
