Shadowhunters of the world, Mundanes everywhere, it's official! The beloved Shadowhunter gang of Cassandra Clare's beloved series The Mortal Instruments are set to hit our screens once more!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, and the folks over at PagetoPremiere, production on the second installment of the franchise, The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes is set to go back into production in 2014, despite having to halt production nearly a month after the first film's disappointing release.
Constantin, the studio behind the franchise cited their reason for continuing with it as the
"The fan response, from the blogosphere and the thousands of mails we have received."
Rest assured, they are looking into where they went wrong and are
"working with a great group of people to reposition the franchise."Stars of the film, Lily Collins, Jamie Campbell-Bower, Kevin Zegers, Jemima West, Robert Sheehan and Jonathan Rhys-Meyers will undoubtedly be happy to back in leather, back in black, and back on the big screen.
It's a little early to be speaking of a release date, so no word on that yet, and the new marketing position could mean any number of changes.
