“The world's greatest secret agent is on the most exciting case of his career. But will the end of the world as we know it take a back seat to training his street-punk nephew to be the next James Bond? Meanwhile, what's the secret link between a series of kidnapped sci-fi stars, the murder of an entire town, and a dark secret from inside Mount Everest? Under Uncle Jack's supervision, Gary's spy skills and confidence blossom--but when the duo learn what's behind the celebrity kidnappings, the knowledge comes at a price. The conspiracy begins to unravel, but who can be trusted when so many prominent figures seem to be involved?”
That is the plot setting of one of the best, if not the best, movie that will be coming to theaters 2014, The Secret Service. You don’t believe me? Well then do your research. I’ve read the graphic novel and it’s pretty great. Do you want to read the 1st issue of the 6 issues? Well click right here: That is just a little sneak peek of what’s to come. Need some more convincing? Very well, here is a couple more reasons why you should go see The Secret Service.
Mark Millar wrote the graphic novel:
Mark Millar, most well known for writing comic books Kick-Ass and Wanted, is one of my favorite comic book writers. Heck, I even follow the guy on twitter because I like him so much. His work is so much fun, very exciting, extremely violent, and keeps me on the edge of my seat at every page I turn. The man knows what to bring to the table when it comes to comic book writing.
Matthew Vaughn is directing:
Most well known for directing X-Men: First Class and Kick-Ass, Matthew Vaughn is one of the greatest directors in cinema right now. The man has the talent to direct any type of genre and it will turn out great. Whether it’s from loving fairy tales to dug dealing mob stories or from wannabe superheroes to actual superheroes, the guy can direct it all. He has yet to direct a less than great film (knock on wood). Oh, and did I mention he and Jane Goldman also wrote the screenplay for the film. Those two are an unstoppable team when they write screenplays together.
Still don’t believe the movie will be great? Then how about some on set photos:
Or a tweet from Mark Millar himself:
I’m not sure what else I have to do to convince you guys to get excited for this movie. All I can say is keep an eye on this film because it will be a thrill to watch. It comes out November 14, 2014.
Will you guys watch The Secret Service when it hits theaters?
