Jai Courtney is greedy for some action!
Don't let the gonzo introduction mislead you. The Die Hardest- star will star in two quite similar war drams, both of them probably devoid of any John McLane- like shoot-out.
The Water Diviner, directed by Russell Crowe, will center on an Australian man, trying to retrieve the bodies of his three fallen sons from the battle fields of Turkey after the end of World War 1.
According to Deadline, Courtney
portrays Lt-Col Cecil Hilton, the smart, efficient soldier tasked with organizing the effort to identify the tens of thousands of soldiers killed at Gallipoli.
In Angelina Jolie’s Unbroken, the actor will play the smallish role of pilot Hugh ‘Cup’ Cuppernell.
The World War 2 drama tells the incredible, harrowing and moving story of Olympian athlete Louis Zamperini who survived an astonishing number of ordeals during the war, including a plane crash, shark attacks and more than one sadistic guard in Japanese POW camps.
Unbroken will be released December 25, 2014.
The Water Diviner has no release date yet, but sure sounds like a prestigious fall/winter release to me.
