Everybody needs somebody - a truism especially true for Keanu Reeves upcoming sci-fi romance, Passengers.

Firstly, every romance needs two leads. For a long time Reese Witherspoon was attached to fall prey to Keanu’s subtle charms. Not so any more.

According to Variety, Rachel McAdams will star instead. On the other hand, Passengers very much seems to be about the yearning for human company, the impossibility of solitude.

Set on a spaceship, Passangers centers on Jim Preston, who awakens about 100 years too early from his hibernation on 120-year journey to a distant colonized planet. Understandably lonely, he decides that he needs company and wakes up a beautiful journalist named Aurora.

Space-romance ensues.
