Michael Dougherty, the writer and director of Trick ‘r Treat, has just confirmed that Trick ‘r Treat 2 is happening. He hasn’t said when, and he hasn’t said who will star or what the stories may be this time around, but he has confirmed that Legendary Pictures have finally green lit this amazing Halloween anthology-film the sequel it so rightfully deserves.
Now for those of you who are unfamiliar with the film and why its such a big deal that its finally getting a sequel, well you just need to sit down this Halloween and treat yourself to one of the greatest All Hallows Eve films ever made, because that’s simply what Trick ‘r Treat is.
The original film was finished with post production in 2007 but its release date was slated till 2009, and even then it went direct to DVD. None of this made sense though. It was a film written and directed by the writer of X-Men 2, it starred Dylan Baker, Anna Paquin, Brian Cox and was produced by Bryan Singer. How could this film just be thrown in the trash? Well it was, but fans caught on, and word spread that an anthology movie that captured the spirit of Halloween was available at your corner video store, and then the rest is history.
