With Thor: The Dark World only 4 days away, anticipation is building for more of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's (MCU) phase 2. I understand how Ironman 3 was the beginning of Phase 2, but with no real post credit scene and The Avengers: Age of Ultron had not yet been announced, there were no real clues of what direction they were going.

A very important bit of news was announced a few months prior: Josh Whedon said death would be a major theme in the second Avengers movie. Then shortly after the release of Ironman3, RDJ had a major contract dispute with Marvel, which to fanboys pleasure was resolved with a contract giving him two more movies with the role. Obviously one of those movies will be The Avengers: Age of Ultron, since we all now know Tony Stark, not Hank Pym, will be the creator of Ultron. Now this is where it gets interesting. At the end of Ironman3, Tony destroyed all his suits and had the Arc-reactor that was in his chest removed. I never understand why more people don't point this out, as this was always the source of power while wearing the suits. I would imagine that after the events of Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: Winter Soldier, and the idea of a larger impending threat, Tony will begin to create Ultron so that he no longer has to be Ironman. He already has an evolving artificial intelligence in Jarvis. Now once this artificial intelligence becomes self-aware (Skynet anyone) it begins to detest humans, hating their free will and viewing it as a threat.

Tony Stark will suit up again, but what tragic event will cause him to do so? As I stated before, death is a major theme in Age of Ultron, so will Pepper or Rhodes get the first major character death? Either would cause a fire to build in Tony. The rest of the team will most likely become incapacitated quickly, which would give reason to recruit Scarlet Witch and QuickSilver. Scarlet Witch is Ultron's biggest weakness in the comics and I see Whedon going in a similar direction. Now whether we like it or not, Tony Stark will die; whether it be in Age of Ultron or The Avengers 3. Thanos is coming, and GotG is going to play a large role in that.
Spoiler alert:

In a post Credit Scene of Thor: The Dark World, the source of Malekith's power, the Aether is given to the Collector (an antagonist for GotG) to which he responds "one down, five to go" This of course is referring to gems of the Infinity Gauntlet, which was can be spotted in the background of the first Thor movie. "
Tony will die in the MCU, it is only a matter of time. RDJ only has two movies left, and with Antman already in development and the future of Dr. Strange looming, the his days are numbered. Josh Whedon said Death is a major theme in Age of Ultron, could Tony attempt to make another sacrifice like he did in the first Avengers, only to fall back through the wormhole in the nick of time? These Marvel movies love to give teases of things to come, could that have shown us that Tony will make the ultimate in heroic acts to protect the rest of the planet and the rest of the Avengers? Also will Age of Ultron be the end with GotG or Avengers3 simply showing flashbacks of Tony?
Let's hear your thoughts...
