Thor 2 came out on November 8th, just a few days ago. I went in expecting it to be good. Just good. I wasn't expecting it to be incredible or anything, and it wasn't really that great plot wise.

Caution there will be spoilers ahead! Do not continue reading if you have not seen the film just yet.

Let's face it. The villains were a tad plain. They didn't seem too developed as characters. They lost a battle and were looking to come back and win the war. That about sums it up for them. Malekith, played by Christopher Eccleston, was a cool looking character and I liked how Thor is what caused his burnt face. I also liked the secondary villain Kurse, played by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, simply because of how brutal he looks! Heres a peak...

However, the movie isn't called Malekith and Kurse is it? Its called THOR!

While all Marvels movies have a serious tone to them, they also have a ton of laughs. Thats what its all about right? Going on a massive adventure larger then human life itself and getting in some laughs along the way. Iron Man 3 had its laughs, but so few of them we forget about the comedy in the movie. Why so serious?

Thor 2 was in my opinion one of the funniest Marvel movies to date. They couldn't go more than 5 minutes without a laugh out loud moment...even during the most intense of scenes. Example: Lokis death was tragically sad, and not moments later are we laughing at Eric Selvigs reaction to finding out that the god that was formerly inside his head poking around has died.

Also Captain America and Stan Lees cameos were excellent! Loki poking fun at his costume claiming that he "Feels the righteousness flowing through him!" was awesome. Stan Lee also posing as a patient in the mental facility was a great tie in to get Stan into the film and also show how far Selvig has fallen since he thinks he's gone crazy.

Thor hanging his hammer on a coat hook is by far one of the simplest and funniest things I've seen Marvel do.

All in all, Marvel did an incredible job with Thor 2: The Dark World. It was fun, exciting, funny, and seriously action packed! I'd personally rate it 4.5 out of 5 stars!

Be sure to check out my next post that will specifically discuss the after credits, tie ins, and lead ins to future Marvel projects. Ill be posting it very soon!
