There are very few things I love more than when a network orders a new show at 6:30pm on a Friday! That sort of thing really tickles my heart. So right now I'm simply enamored with Fox, which has just announced Bordertown, an animated comedy created by Family Guy's Mark Hentemann and Seth MacFarlane. The series is set in a fictional town on the U.S.-Mexico border, and it will take a satirical look at cultural shifts happening across the U.S. I'm guessing it'll be pretty much exactly what you'd expect from any other Seth MacFarlane show.
Bordertown's two main characters are Bud Buckwald and Ernesto Gonzalez. One's a Border Patrol agent and one is a Mexican immigrant; I'll let you figure out which is which. The two men live next door to each other, and "their families become bound by friendship, romance, and conflict." Fox has ordered 13 episodes of the series, which is expected to debut during the 2014-2015 TV season. Alex Carter (Family Guy) and Dan Vebber (American Dad) will join Hentemann and MacFarlane as co-executive producers.
Does Bordertown sound like something you'll watch?
