There are lots of talks about the new Amazing Spider-Man 2 poster that has leaked online a few days ago and now has been released in HQ. This poster not only shows us the two already known villains Electro and Rhino (that is revealed to have a robotic look like its Ultimate counterpart in the comics), but also shows us that the film will feature the Goblin (I can't really say if it's the Green Goblin, the Hobgoblin or any other type) and that he will be probably played by Dane DeHaan aka Harry Osborn in the film. I would like to underline how Goblin's costume looks a lot alike the Electro costume and the Ravencroft Institute security suits (maybe Ravencroft has something to do with the assembling of the Sinister Six?).
It was already speculated in another article here on Moviepilot (http://moviepilot.com/posts/1189670-sinister-six-in-the-amazing-spiderman-2-yay-or-nay) that the Sinister Six were hinted in the poster leeked, but it was still a bit stretched. But let me explain my theory: there are four actors that will be in the film and of whom the roles are still unknown. I'm talking about Colm Feore, Felicity Jones, B. J. Novak and Sarah Gadon.
It was rumored that Colm Feore was going to play Adrian Toomes aka the Vulture (come on, this guy totally looks perfect for the part!), but this was debuked by Mark Webb himself; but its known that Webb loves playing with the rumors around this film, so the Vulture possibility could still stand for me.
Another role I think Feore could play is Gustav Fiers aka the Gentleman (he was an human foe of Spider-Man that appeared in the Revenge of the Sinister Six story arc and used the group of supervillans as pawns): this would also explain the post-credit scene of the first The Amazing Spider-Man (the man in the suit was rumored to be the Gentleman). Plus I want to add that the only official photo of Feore character was related with Ravencroft (another proof of their hand behind the Sinister Six?)
Felicity Jones was rumored to play the Black Cat and this was never debuked neither by Webb or by Jones. (Jones's character has been reported to be in a "special relationship" with Norman Osborn: could that mean that she is Black Cat working undercover to steal from Osborn's? Or maybe is something else?). I know the Black Cat has never been a part of the Sinister Six in the comics, but would make sense as she could be a female member of the team and she could be the one in the team that in the end decide to help Spidey. Plus she totally looks the part.
Probably the most streched one is the role that could be played by B. J. Novak. As they are going to do the Sinister Six (sooner or later is confirmed that they will appear in this film version) I'm really hoping they will put Doc Ock in the mix: in the comics he's the leader of the first Sinister Six formation and he's pretty much always present in the Sinister Six's groups (I know he was already in the Raimi's films and he was probably the best villain in the trilogy, but in my opinion he's needed in the Sinister Six).
Another character I think he could play is Quentin Beck aka Mysterio, that as always been one of the most recurring members of the Sinister Six.
When Sarah Gadon was casted in the film, many (me too) have thought that she was going to be Mary Jane Watson instead of Shailene Woodley (as her scenes as MJ were cut from the film) and, at least in my opinion, she would have been perfect; but this was debuked: sources say that she has been cast as an artificial intelligence officer. She could easely be in the movie in a small role, but if I have to say my opinion, she could play Lily Hollister aka Menace (in the comics she was the girlfriend of Harry Osborn and she found the hidden Goblin lair and accidentally shatters vials full of a new type of Goblin Serum that made contact with her skin, mutating her into Menace).
So folks, what do you think? Do you believe the Sinister Six will already appear in the second installment of the series or further on? Do you have any other theories on the roles of this actors? Let me know what you guys think in the comment section!
