As fun as this torturous influx of rumor without confirmation, it was time for it to end.
From the very beginning, Disney has stated that it didn't really have an interest in creating an fifth Indiana Jones movie. Paramount continued to own distribution rights and would just guck up the works. What made it worse is that it seemed that Disney was fine with that.
But luckily, either common sense or the pleas of fans got to them, and on December 6, they bought the distribution rights for any further films, cutting Paramount some money on the side for doing nothing.
Now a major, possibly the biggest, booby trap lying in the way of Disney and an Indiana Jones 5 film is conveniently gone.
