So, based on what I have seen written by others, I would like to start off by saying that clearly people need to do their research into the stories that are then becoming these films we are getting close to seeing. This Days of Future past story is hopefully when translated to film going to be allowed to show the scope of what happens and or what does not happen when humans try to play God and mutants fight back. There are so many speculations about what is going to happen or what will happen to some or possibly more of the Mutants that we all have gotten to know. My own experience is not at all rooted in these films since the first X-MEN and now even up to this most recent one being released in May 23, 2014. Now mine is comic book related and getting the picture from the books is my only way of looking at these story-lines be in X-MEN or now Days of Future Past. There is a reason for this and its because too many times have pieces or entire characters been moved out, left out completely or killed before they were in the story-lines I read in the comics.
This will always be true and I still do not understand why this is the way that directors, writers and or studios keep wanting to show these films but to me, I hate the way the story has progressed from each film and even just in seeing the trailer for DOFP it is not doing what the comic book story has done. I am honestly at a loss as to why this is because again the reference material is available to most people but it is now clear that they don't want to use it. I remember Hugh Jackman, aka Wolverine-Logan whatever you want to use but he said in an interview years ago now that on the set of X-MEN they were not allowed to have or be in contact with comic books in the X-MEN series because it would or could have some influence on how they behaved or even portrayed their characters. That is BOLOGNA!! I mean where do you think these character came from?
They weren't coming from some non-fiction books or even fiction novels, short stories or whatever. They were and have been since the release of X-MEN comics back in 1963. I mean some evolution may be fine in regards to modernization of surroundings and or characters looks but to leave out characters who define what and who the X-MEN are in the comics is just plain ridiculous. Some may disagree but so be it disagree with me fine, but have a better argument than whatever their real reasons for removing or altering a story or character just because some 7 year old somewhere in Siberia may not understand the character the way they were originally written or again what ever the case may be. People who are like me fans of comic books and the X-MEN since we are talking about them at this time, should make it a point to let someone know what you think about what is happening in film to these greater than life heroes, outcasts whatever you choose to label them with. The Age of Apocalypse issue will come more once hearing more about it as time marches towards that. I have to just say based on what I hear or read so far is that people don't know what the Hell they are talking about when it comes to this DOFP and A of A stories. They do not fit together as easily as one might think. In the Age of Apocalypse stories the Professor is not alive hence for as far as most are concerned he is dead at least so they think. His mind clearly is in another character as we who actually read these stories and by the way I have these comics still in my closet being kept safe. They are there for me to reference at any time. And just for the record Apocalypse is not a Mutant!!
Please people stand up and be heard if like me you are a fan or even a hardcore fan of the X-MEN because clearly the ones making these movies and producing them for consumers do not know what they are doing by changing so much of these comic stories into what they think will make money. Let me know what you think. I want to know that I am not the only one who wants to leave the changes alone and if making this Age of Apocalypse into film get it right and use the books for once instead of the worry about how much it will make.
