So, I've been reading a few articles where people have commented about how Benedict Cumberbatch needed to start playing more Heroic roles, and naturally I had to put my two cents in about the roles one of my favorite actors play.

I love Benedict Cumberbatch, because he can play the roles he gets casted in with such a dedication and perfection that makes me jealous of his acting abilities. The man went from playing Stephen Hawking in Hawking, to Sherlock in BBC's Sherlock, to Major Jamie Stewart in War Horse, to Kahn in Stark Trek Into Darkness. The man can play a wide variety of roles, most of which involve characters who have these deep personalities. He's brilliant at what he does, and yet people don't think he should play the role of a Sith in Star Wars?

Now, I'm not saying that Cumberbatch wouldn't be able to pull off a great Jedi. He totally could and pull it off with infinite gusto and make hearts melt world wide, and he could play a heroic character who isn't a Jedi. But Cumberbatches's characters should have depth to them. I want to see him play a role that makes the viewer wonder if the character is really good or really evil. A character who halfway through the movie undergoes some change that shows deep down what his real moral code is like, whether that's for the good or for the bad.

Which is why I think Benedict Cumberbatch would be PERFECT for a James Bond role in a James Bond film. I know there's some speculation about a James Bond 24 film featuring Daniel Craig's Bond, as found on IMDb, and I'm sure it would be a great movie. But I'm talking the Sean Connery James Bond. The James Bond who's young, suave, and ready for action. Who better to bring new depth to Britain's Favorite Spy than an actor who can play the morally ambiguous hero, and at the same time make you wonder if he's really the hero.

Benedict Cumberbatch could make James Bond be, not just James Bond, but THE James Bond. Forget making Bond older and showing he can still kick butt, when you can make a new 007. A Bond that makes younger viewers want to go back and watch the old James Bond movies just to see how much Cumberbatch's Bond, adds up to the old ones.

Not to mention Cumberbatch's great looks. Does anyone else see him rocking the spy uniform and making every female in the theaters want to be his Bond Girl? He has the body to play the character, he has the depth to play the character, and he has the ability to play the character.

Before I end this post I will say one more thing, Benedict Cumberbatch can play any character he wants, and I won't complain... So long as that character has enough depth and overall personality to really show off what this talented British actor can do. Whether it's him as Sherlock, him as Khan, him as William Carey (Boleyn Girl), or him as a Jedi or Sith in the new Star Wars movie, Benedict Cumberbatch will always be able to pull off a role.
