Ever had those times where you want someone to cast or just do a shitty job in the role? Or if someone wasn't your first choice but was perfect anyway? Well here are some casting alternative comic book movie ideas.
#10 Michael Biehn as Matt Murdock/Daredevil.
Who played it: Ben Affleck.
Known for: Terminator (1984), Aliens (1986) and The Abyss (1989).
Reason: Call me crazy but I liked the Daredevil movie and I thought Ben Affleck did a pretty good job. He's too old now, but back in the early 2000s or even 1990s Biehn would've been PERFECT for Matt Murdock. He's got the look and the attitude. He was born to play a blind super hero.
#9 Clancy Brown as Perry White.
Who played it: Laurence Fishburne.
Known for: Highlander (1986), Superman The Animated Series (1996 - 2000) and Starship Troopers (1997).
Reason: I loved Fishburne and he really surprised me. However before Fishburne was cast I always thought Clancy Brown would've been an awesome Perry White. He's got the attitude and the presence to him. I would've been a nice nod to the 1990s Superman cartoon since he voiced Lex Luthor.
#8 Rachel Weisz as Lois Lane.
Who played it: Amy Adams.
Known for: The Mummy (1999), The Mummy Returns (2002) and Constantine (2005).
Reason: Amy Adams really surprised me. Constantine convinced me she would've been great (underrated movie by the way).
#7 Jeff Goldblum as Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard.
Who played: Rhys Ifans.
Known for: The Fly (1986), Jurassic Park (1993) and Independence Day (1996).
Reason: Rhys Ifans is a great actor, but he just didn't do it for me. Now I can understand that they wanted to go for someone younger but who give a shit. Just watch The Fly and think about. He was BORN to play this role.
#7 Michael Ironside as Otto Octavius/Doctor Octopus.
Who Played it: Alfred Molina.
Known for: Known for: Total Recall (1990), Superman The Animated Series (1996 - 2000) and Justice League/Justice League Unlimited (2001 - 2006).
Reason: This might be controversial. But hear me out. Ironside knows how to play evil. Dock Ock was never sympathetic villain in the comics at all. I think Ironside would've been more evil, meaner, and much more menacing/intimidating Dock Ock than molina.
#5 Angelina Jolie as Selina Kyle/Catwoman.
Who played: Halle Berry.
Known for: The Bone Collector (1999), Lara Croft Tomb Raider (2001) and Mr. And Ms. Smith (2005).
Reason: Currently Kate Beckinsale would be my choice. But back in the day I always thought Jolie would've been a great Catwoman (I don't she'd fit Nolan's universe though). She has seductive attitude and be cool and calm if asked. Not to mention seeing her tight leather would've nice. I mean she'd be better than Halle Berry.
#4 Kevin Spacey as Dr. Victor Fries/Mr. Freeze.
Who played it: Arnold Schwarzenegger (Only if Tim Burton directed Batman and Robin).
Known for: Se7en (1996), L.A Confidential (1997) and The Negotiator/American Beauty (1999).
Reason: I know he as Lex Luthor in Superman Returns. But that wasn't his fault. If Tim Burton had directed Batman and Robin Spacey would've fit perfectly. Since he did an amazing job as the criminal mastermind John Doe in Se7en, I think he would've been creepier and more menacing than Arnold.
Not convinced yet? Maybe this will help.
Just imagine him a Mr. Freeze in a Tim Burton Batman movie.
#2 Alan Rickman as Victor Von Doom/Doctor Doom.
Who played it Julian McMahon.
Known for: Die Hard (1988), Robin Hood (1991), and Galaxy Quest (1999).
Reason: Granted having Rickman play Von Doom would've called changes for the script but who cares. Come on it's Hans Gruber from Die Hard. He has that arrogance yet sinister way about him.
I mean his voice fits perfectly:
Now think about it. I think he would've been an AWESOME Doctor Doom.
#2 Anne Hathaway as Mary Jane Watson.
Who played it: Kirsten Dunst.
Known for: The Other Side Of Heaven (2001), Nicholas Nickleby (2002) and Havoc (2005).
Reason: Now just hear me out and follow me. She was a good Catwoman. But back in the she would've been the perfect MJ. She can easily die her hair red and has the attitude. She's much hotter than Kirsten Dunst.
#1 R. Lee Ermey as J. Jonah Jameson.
Who played it: J.K. Simmons.
Known for: Full Metal Jacket (1987), Se7en (1996) and Saving Silverman (2001).
Just watch these two clips and picture him as JJJ.
Reason: An actor who was in Cameron's Spider-Man and was cast as this role. I loved J.K. don't get me wrong, but Ermey was born to play this. I can picture him yelling "Parker Get Your Ass In My Office".
