Despite being the most popular show in the history of television (or something like that), The Walking Dead has never found a great deal of love come awards season. The zompocalypse drama is often overlooked in favor of less popular, but perhaps more highbrow, shows, which annoys the legion of undead fans no end.

Well last night TWD finally got the recognition it deserves after nabbing a couple of gongs at the People's Choice Awards.

AMC's smash-hit drama walked (or should that be shuffled?) away with the award for Favorite Cable TV Drama, beating off competition from Downtown Abbey, Pretty Little Liars, Sons of Anarchy, and White Collar.

Andrew Lincoln also nabbed the People’s Choice Award for Favorite TV Anti-Hero for his portrayal of Rick Grimes, relegating Dexter Morgan of Dexter, Jaime Lannister of Game of Thrones, Norman Bates of Bates Motel, and Walter White of Breaking Bad to the status of losers.

That wasn't the only Walking Dead action of the night, as fan-favorite Norman Reedus presented Robert Downey Jr. with the award for Favorite Action Movie Star for his performance in Iron Man 3. It also resulted in probably the coolest selfie of all time.

Tony Stark and Daryl Dixon in the same room together? The awesomeness of that situation almost certainly caused a rip in the space-time continuum and the collapse of many distant suns.
