The Dead Space video game saga is a true marvel. From beginning to end, it has developed and expanded from a sci-fi horror to a sci-fi epic. The silent protagonist from the first game was given a voice; the story became more complex and the mythology behind the saga is still blurred with new reveals and twists shown through the third game. But one installment in the series many fans have been waiting for is the live-action, feature film.
Right now, it's bad news when it comes to the movie. With a draft script written by Phillip Gelatt (the writer of the realistic sci-fi thriller, Europa Report), you would think that the film would be on its way. But now they've turned to the screenwriter who wrote Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li. A movie that was bad to begin with, earning back only a fourth of it's budget in theaters, and the screenwriter is getting the chance to ruin another movie. The people who i think would be best to handle the Dead Space movie are as follows:
- Directed by either Marc Forster, James Wan, Gareth Edwards, or Guillermo del Toro.
- Written by Guillermo del Toro, Drew Goddard, Damon Lindelof, and/or Alex Garland (with basis in Gelatt's script).
- Then, i think they should have Gunner Wright come in to play Isaac Clarke, since he did fantastic with the voice and facial recognition in Dead Space 2 & 3. The same thing goes for Peter Mensah as Zach Hammond, but for Kendra Daniels, they should have either Jennifer Lawrence (seriously, she would play the part beyond well) or Evangeline Lily.
So that's my dream casting and crew behind the Dead Space film, and i really hope they don't butcher the franchise like they did with the Doom movie.
