After weeks of speculation, the secret behind Marvel's one-shot, All Hail the King, has finally been revealed.
The first stills for the short have landed online and as predicted, the one-shot will focus on Iron Man 3's The Mandarin, played by Ben Kingsley.
Now of course, the big reveal from the movie was that Kinglsey wasn't actually the Mandarin, but rather a drunk British actor called Trevor Slattery. And while some fans were won over by the movie's curve ball, many more were left lamenting the miss-handling of Iron Man's greatest foe.
The good news is that early reports of the one-shot suggest it could well set the record straight. EW has seen All Hail the King and say, "The short is an epilogue to Iron Man 3 … but you could also see it as a possible prologue to Iron Man 4." And for all you that were annoyed by the Mandarin twist? Well, you are not alone. Here's what writer/director Drew Pearce had to say:
Imagine a real terrorist organization whose beliefs were long held and religious for thousands of years, and imagine a drunk, British actor coming along and essentially telling the world that he’s the face of your organization. I think they would be right to be quite angry.
It all sounds very promising.

All Hail the King will be available on the Thor: The Dark World Blu-ray, out February 25th.
