Oh BBC, you never cease to amaze me. You struck me with Copper, Ripper Street, and Broadchurch. Not going into Doctor Who, because that is another whole article.

The Musketeers, Athos, Porthos, Aramis and D'artagnan are four of literature's finest heroes. Their story has been told several times over. But this time, it might be different in the hands of the BBC.

I found it by accident when I was researching Peter Capaldi's roles when I found out he was cast as The Doctor. Being a fan of the novel, and some of the movies I was curious. True, you can only spin a story that's been told several times but, I'm a sucker for classic literature made into movies and television shows.

Peter Capaldi stars as Cardnial Richelieu, the big bad of the story. Very excited to see what he does with the character.

The Musketeers airs on BBC One on January 19th, and on BBC America this spring.
