The Saw franchise is NOT over!

It's been 3 years since Saw 3D came out, and Lionsgate said Saw 3D would end the franchise. Well, on November, 5, 2013 it was reported that Lionsgate is "actively developing" another Saw film. (What made them change their minds and continue the franchise?)

Now if you're thinking they might ruin the franchise by making a remake, don't worry, Bloody Disgusting has reported the studio is looking for a "new direction" for the next film in the franchise. So, it should bring something new to Saw unlike how some people argue the previous sequels only brought new traps and even more gore. (I don't agree but I can still see why some people think that.)

I personally am looking forward to Saw VIII, I loved all seven movies and would really like to know how the story continues. I'm thinking that this "new direction" might have something to do with Dr. Lawrence Gordon (Cary Elwes) and the other two people wearing Pighead masks as they are still alive at the end of Saw 3D. I'm guessing they might continue Jigsaw's (Tobin Bell) legacy in some way, but as the story is so complicated and always full of plot twists it's difficult to predict how it will continue.

Although I am not going to start watching the 'torture' sub-genre for a while, I did watch Saw because the plot is very interesting, and it's point is not to gross you out. (By the way, if you have never seen any of the Saw movies I highly recommend this to all horror fans.) Well, whatever way Lionsgate chooses to continue Saw let's hope there will be a good sequel to one of the best horror franchises of all time!

So, what do you think of Lionsgate making an 8th Saw movie? Tell me in the comments!
