Big Bad Wolves posters proudly declares Quentin Tarantino’s endorsement of it as the best movie of the year. That endorsement means that the film will be grim, violent and mordantly funny– a reflection of Tarantino’s own style.
The poster tag lines scream their Grim Fairy Tale origins: “Once upon a time there was a little girl”, “the hunter becomes the hunted”, “Some men are created evil”. The other half puns the title visually and verbally: “Beware of their bite” while showing a wolf in sheep’s clothing or a very intricate nesting doll version of Red Riding Hood.
The posters are for the most part minimal, effective, artistic and extremely well done. The latest four released are Mondo reminiscent. Hopefully Big Bad Wolves will live up to its poster art.
Big Bad Wolves is an Israeli mystery thriller/revenge film directed by Aharon Keshales (Kalevet) and Navot Papushado (Rabies). The official synopsis: “A series of brutal murders puts the lives of three men on a collision course: The father of the latest victim now out for revenge, a vigilante police detective operating outside the boundaries of law, and the main suspect in the killings – a religious studies teacher arrested and released due to a police blunder”.
