I can't begin to say how badly I wish this was a hoax. According to multiple sources, following on from an initial report by the Wall Street Journal, Oscar-winner Philip Seymour Hoffman has been found dead in his New York apartment. He was 46.
Hoffman won an Academy Award for his portrayal of Truman Capote in the 2005 film Capote, detailing the author's experience when writing In Cold Blood. Having gone to rehab for an apparent heroin addiction last year, the police believe that an overdose is what killed the highly-acclaimed actor.
