Many of you have heard of the death of the great actor Phillip Seymour Hoffman on February 2nd, 2014. Many actors have left touching comments and posts about the actor. Cause of death is drug overdose. He was battling drug abuse for years now, unfortunately it got the best of him. I thought I would pay my respect for him on Moviepilot for all movie fans to read and comment. This is an article of my opinion and memory of watching the actor on the big screen.

My first film I saw Phillip Seymour Hoffman in was, Mission Impossible 3. He was a great villain, so dark and interesting. His acting was impressive in that film and any other films he was in. "Capote" in 2005 was a big break for him, winning the Academy Award for Best Actor. I have not seen "Capote" yet, now I must watch it to see how great he really was. I just regret I didn't see it earlier. I recently saw Catching Fire and he was great in that! He stole the movie, and now with his passing they will have to replace him in Mocking Jay Part 1 and 2. Studios have had this issue with replacing characters after certain actors deaths. Michael Gambon replacing Richard Harris as Dumbledore in the final six Harry Potter movies, for example.

So many actors passed away from drug overdoses, Heath Ledger, Cory Monteith, now Phillip Seymour Hoffman. Its sad to think that all that talent is now gone, and will only live in memory, DVD's, and re-runs. Death takes away the people who had so much to live for too soon. Please leave comments of you favorite film that Phillip Seymour Hoffman was in or anything else you would like to add.
