When I heard Ben Affleck would play Batman, I thought it was the worse casting Warner Bros could have done. After a while, seeing him taking the role seriously and working out, I was fine. Gal Gadot gets cast as Wonder Woman, another casting choice I was not with, but gave the benefit of the doubt.
And then...... this happened.
Honestly, like the title of this article, this is where I draw the line. Not only does this casting make me confused, but it kind of infuriates me. I understand that not everyone gets their Ideal person for a specific a role. Though, the fact that you cast someone who does not fit the description for Lex Luthor by the eye and lacks the presence of Superman's most notorious villain tells me something.
Look at the roles he had in the past. A lot of the energy and charisma he brings on screen is not something that says "THIS IS LEX LUTHOR!" At best, the Lex that we can current Image him playing is only a young rich, smart kid whose slick, not cunning, ruthless, manipulative, smooth-talking Lex Luthor.
I'm not saying he's not a good actor.... at what he does, but not for this role. The energy he brings and appearance makes he look like he's in his early 20s which if Superman and Lex are around the same age.... Well you know what... take a look at what screen junkies put together.
Ok, even though I'm less than optimistic about the decisions being made at Warner Bros, people can surprise you. We have no knowledge of what his exact portrayal would be. I do not like this casting, but we'll see.
Anyway, tell me what you guys think about Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.
