As you can guess by the title, this is an article discussing a rumour, so take it with a substantial grain of salt. With that said, let's dive in.
So far, I haven't made much noise about Edgar Wright's Ant-Man project. That's mainly because the news we get on the subject isn't always what it seems. Back in December, it was announced that Paul Rudd would portray the title character. At the time, I just assumed that he would play Hank Pym. Not long after, however, we learned that Michael Douglas would play Pym, and Rudd would star as Scott Lang. This left me confused as to how the Wasp would be portrayed, and by whom.
Rashida Jones has been brought up in several conversations, and now, we have another potential contender. According to Variety, Hobbit alum Evangeline Lily is currently being eyed to don Janet Van Dyne's wings. Or... is it Janet Van Dyne? Could the Wasp be somebody else? Well, Variety had this to say on that topic.
Plot details are still vague, but fans have suspected Wright is taking a different approach. It is unclear whom Lilly would be playing, though some insiders say she would play the daughter of Pym (Douglas) and Lang’s love interest.
Is Lily going to play the Wasp? Is it a good choice? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Ant-Man is set to hit theaters on July 17, 2015.
