What's really important to remember today, on George A. Romero's birthday, is that Zombies never was intended to be evil, that's just a myth being enforced by passive contemporary left-oriented filmmakers.

George Romero originally intended Zombies to be a metaphor for consumers, in a society where normal people are being fed what to feel, think and do. In this context zombies are really the victims and it's society and popular culture that are evil.

Another good example of this is the scene from Day of the Dead where Zombie-bob (Victim of popular culture) discovers classical music for the first time. This is the moment he realizes what his superior officers have kept from him all this time.
