It has been almost 10 years since Douglas Adams epic novel came to the big screen and at the end left us hanging by mentioning the Restaurant at The End of The Universe.
What many people do not realize is that there is a whole series of books based on Arthur, Ford, Trillian, Marvin and Beeblebrox. I have read the entire series, and they are wonderful. Also, stories that could make the box office a butt load of money....
We all know this was a wonderful movie and I personally know that it is also a great book, but not the best of the series by any means. After completing the books Douglas Adams himself even stated that he felt that the Restaurant at The End of The Universe was the best of the entire series. I happen to agree with him... so why have they not made the sequel yet?
Surely, it's not because he died during post production of the The Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy. J.R.R Tolken died many years before the LOTR trilogy came out and here we are 2 movies into the 2nd trilogy.
We also know that Box Office Revenue is not the issue either. as the movie made truck loads of Cash Opening Weekend. So someone please tell me why we don't have a sequel yet?
The material is there and the actors are still young enough to play their parts. Yet what we get at the box office these days are phony sparkly vampires who don't even eat humans, WTF?!
Tons of movies don't even make sense. Let's get rid of the stupid crap and start making some sequels that people can relate to! To this end, I hope to see The Restaurant at The End of The Universe coming to a screen near me.
What do you think readers? Sound off in the comments section below... Who knows with enough fan reaction maybe Hollywood will take notice and bring out movies we want to see, not crap that doesn't even make sense!
