Over at the Beyond the Trailer YouTube page, Grace Randolph discusses that her fans are rooting for Eva Green to take this role...that is IF the rumors of a female Dr. Doom are true.

I know this move on behalf of Fox is unpopular, but with the right actress, it could work. Here is three big reasons why this could work, but with Eva Green:

1. Female villain: it's a role Eva Green is no stranger to.

2. She has redefined the role of the female villain. Eva Green makes being a female villain more empowering. Not some arm candy, or a woman fawning over the protagonist. I really can't picture anyone else in this role. She always plays the villain we hate to love. She was the best thing about Dark Shadows, and didn't always have to use her femininity to be a bad girl.

3. Eva Green is an amazing actress, and with the upcoming film 300: Rise of an Empire, we'll see what her on screen fighting skills are like. Eva Green was one of my first initial casting choices for Wonder Woman, and since that didn't work out, she should be used somewhere in the comic book universe, whether it's DC or Marvel. She deserves to be a household name, even if she'll just be known for playing female villains her whole career.

Now on to the ART!

Artists have already kicked it into gear with the Victoria Von Doom concept art. I must say I'm impressed. I managed to find a lot of art that didn't involve a skanky costume. The pictures aren't the best, but at least you can see what the artists are trying to achieve.

Whether this is true or not remains to be seen. My only problem with this gender change is FOX. I feel like they are out of touch with their comic book franchises. A change this drastic should be in the hands of the folks at Marvel. As you know, Fox has had a track record of making not so great comic book films. On the flipside, if done right, Eva Green/Dr. Doom could achieve Tom Hiddleston/Loki status. Then again, no matter whom is cast, this could turn out a disaster regardless.

What are your thoughts? Do you think Eva Green would be able to pull off Victoria Doom? Be sure to watch this episode of Beyond the Trailer for more information!
