Mr. Stallone,

I have enjoyed the Expendables films, and was ecstatic when I heard a female version is soon to be released. I have been waiting for the day when a group of ass kicking Women come together big screen. In long anticipation, the synopsis is finally released, and what I read was horrifying! This is the synopsis that is available on IMDB and this is what it is so far:

"When America's Navy SEALs are wiped out trying to penetrate the island lair of a deadly despot who has captured one of the world's top nuclear scientists, it becomes clear that there is no such thing as the right man for the job and that this is a mission so impossible that only women can handle it. The only way in: some of the world's deadliest female operatives must pose as high-class call-girls shipped in by private plane to satisfy a dictator and instead save the scientist and the day. "

I thought this was a joke. It was hard for me to believe that this nonsense could be serious. Then the harsh reality began to sink in deep. I'm sure all things are subject to change but with the current state of women in film, I highly doubt it. Here are the underlying issues with this ridiculous plot:

Throughout the 1990s the save the nuclear scientist, save the world from nuclear destruction, dictator bit had been done to death. It is time to come up with something different. I'm sure the 90s was your favorite time period Mr. Stallone, but you have to let it go! I know a heap of male actors have saved the world on film a ton of times, but I don't recall any of them having to pretend to sell their bodies to get the job done.

There is a better way to portray a group of well trained, qualified assassins. I'm sure you were thinking this type of plot would be empowering to Women. Or maybe you weren't thinking about that at all. Maybe you were thinking more about how to sell this to male moviegoers. It does nothing but dehumanize the efforts of strong willed Women. There is nothing wrong with a female saving the day without having to her flaunt her body, or be used as some type of sex symbol. They are the perfect archetypes out there for the modern female hero, and there are plenty of other inspirational female heroines to draw inspiration from.

Linda Hamilton did it without having to flaunt her body

Sigourney Weaver did it four times...

I've heard some names being thrown around like Meryl Streep and Milla Jovovich. That is laughable at best. Meryl Streep has built her career on playing strong female characters. I hope you don't expect her to lower her standards to be apart of this, just because it features an all female cast. Milla Jovovich is one of the prime female action heroines of this generation, she has been pumping out Resident Evil films for the past 12 years, when people thought Resident Evil wasn't going to make it past the first film. Her character Alice has never had to strut her stuff as anything other than a Woman (Whom is more than capable of defending herself) in a bad situation. Never having portray the character in a majorly sexual way (Besides the outfits). To expect these women to be sold on being a part of a project such as this is absolutely ludicrous.

You sir, are a world-class writer/director, so whatever your involvement is in this, its your brain child, so I'm calling you out. I was disappointed that female special operatives have to be prostitutes/call girls in this film. Is this really all you could come up with?! This is the first film of its kind. A group of female heroes saving their country. Don't you think that Women have fought so long and hard, that we deserve so much better than this? I ask that you think it over, and try to come up with something better. I have 3 different scenarios in my head that I came up with in less than 5 minutes, so there is no excuse.

Again, please rethink this plot and write something that will appeal to ALL audiences, not just a targeted few. I would love to see this manifest on screen, but just not in this way. I know you can make the changes necessary.
