We all grew up loving the legends of horror - Frankenstein, Dracula, The Mummy, and The Werewolf. In fact, for some of us these monsters were our first glimpse into horror. Before the slasher flicks and the raunchy blood bath thrillers that constantly push our limits, we had the classics. The tried and true vampires, disfigured and creepy monsters that not only scared us with their physical presence but with their mind bending psychological struggles that are often lost in today's gore fest frenzy flicks. They did it all without gallons of fake blood or today's Special FX.
To pay homage to the classics, artist Carlos Bercini has designed a complete deck of playing cards that features these timeless monsters. This new playing card deck, which carries the iconic Bicycle branding, is called Bicycle Monster Montage. Carlos took these monsters to new heights by re-designing them but at the same time kept their spirits intact to the core character that was made famous on the Silver Screen years ago. The playing card deck features 12 re-imagined and re-designed monster court cards as well as brand new suit design. The deck's color palette pulls from historical film posters of the time these monsters were first appearing in movie houses and cinemas.
The deck is currently being funded as a Kickstarter project. If you would like to get your hands on this deck they are still available on the Kickstarter page. The project ceases funding on March 14th. If the project, reaches it's goal of $16,000, the deck will be printed by The United States Playing Card Company, same company behind Bicycle, Bee, Aviator and Tally-Ho The deck is a collaborative effort between Uncrowned Cards and artist Carlos Bercini.
