AMC has hit back against the lawsuit brought by former Walking Dead showrunner Frank Darabont, labelling claims he was cheated out of profits as "baseless".

Darabont filed a lawsuit against the network claiming he "has not received and may never receive one dollar in profits for developing the series" but on Thursday AMC filed a 10-page response denying the allegations and asking for the case to be thrown out.

An AMC statement read:

We look forward to demonstrating through the legal process that this is a baseless lawsuit built on claims that have no merit,

Darabont has also claimed that he was wrongly fired from the The Walking Dead and should still get Executive Producer credits and a share of the profits from TWD spin-offs such as The Talking Dead.

But with AMC digging in their heels and fighting the allegations all the way, this case is going to run and run.
