By now, we've been introduced to the Guardians of the Galaxy, the gun-toting, trash-talking antiheroes who are Marvel's next big team-up. It's been made clear from the very first trailer that they all have rap sheets as long as a football field, with everything ranging from vehicular theft to murder to...sex offenses? What?

As it turns out, some people have noticed what looks like a pretty serious crime on Peter Quill's (Chris Pratt) run-down of offenses in the police line-up: "Illegal manipulation of a Gramosian Duchess". But director James Gunn took to Facebook to clear that misunderstanding up:

I’m getting a lot of questions about Peter Quill’s ‘sex crime’ as listed on his rap sheet in the trailer – ‘illegal manipulation of a Gramosian Duchess'. Just to explain, Quill was seduced by the Duchess and, as anyone who has been to Gramos knows, it’s illegal for regular folk to be intimate with royalty there. So there you go.

So he may have charges of fraud against him (not to mention that whole stealing a NASA scoutship thing), but a violent criminal, he isn't.

Can't wait to watch him be a complete scoundrel, though.

Guardians of the Galaxy hits theaters on August 1st.
