We have three reasons why you should make a reminder for yourself that Kung Fu Panda 3 will be the family film to watch come Christmas 2015.
1. Kung Fu Panda 2 was one of the most successful films ever by a female director!
The second film in the trilogy grossed over $650 million globally to date, making Jennifer Yuh Nelson the highest-grossing female director of a film at the worldwide box office' (DreamWorks Animation). This is particularly impressive given that not only was it her directorial debut but that it was the second of its kind to be directed by a woman after the Tigger Movie. What's more, because of this, new female director Angelina Jolie now considers Nelson a mentor.
2. Unbelievable cast
The cast boasts some serious heavyweights including: Angelina Jolie, Seth Rogen, Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Mads Mikkelsen, Rebel Wilson and famed funny guy, Jack Black. Not only that, but Melissa Cobb will be returning as producer and the one and only Guillermo del Toro as executive producer. So who knows, this film may just be the gateway into a whole world of original and visionary film-making.
3. A great way to educate the kids.
Whilst being a fantastic introduction to the emerging superpower that is China (where it is set), the film also has an abundance of moral teachings and wisdom; delivered in a fun and engaging way by the various characters. It's mostly about 'inner peace' and 'strength of mind' as per the quote below:
A Pretty Plume won’t make you happy. Shen the peacock had a gorgeous plume, but he still wasn’t happy. Because he wasn’t happy, he spent his entire life trying to make everyone miserable. When he meets Po the Panda he is in awe of how peaceful he is. Po has nothing going for him. Yet he was comfortable with himself and as Master Shifu stated: “Remember…anything is possible if you have inner peace.”
