After all the speculation, John Constantine has finally been cast.
Matt Ryan, who voiced main character Edward Kenway in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, will play the occult detective, conman and magician.
The much-respected character first appeared in Alan Moore's 80s comic Swamp Thing, and has since appeared in his own line of comics and a 2005 movie, where he was played by Keanu Reeves.

Constantine has always been thought of as a rugged, working class character - a wily trickster who smokes constantly and, while essentially good, is about as much of an antihero as you can get. And it was many of these features of his personality that fans thought the 2005 movie adaptation missed - that film seemed slick rather than dark.
So what do you think? Will Matt Ryan be able to give this character the grizzled rough-around-the-edges feel that fans believe is necessary? And as Alan Moore has repeatedly claimed to have met this character in real life - what superhero/villain would you most like to meet and why?
