I love Jessica Jones, and while obviously Jessica Jones and Alias is NOW going to exist in the Netflix part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)...

~Iron Man 3 and All Hail the King Director Drew Pierce

I think there are a lot of things we need to analyze with this upcoming Netflix Marvel project. With its 200 Million dollar budget, there's no doubt that this is going to be a huge scale event and very important to Marvel. 200 Million is a bigger budget than Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and the same budget as Iron Man 2 and Iron Man 3.

First off, we need to look at Marvel's past movies to figure out where they're starting at and where they're going. Marvel's only other superhero team is The Avengers right now. Though originally everyone thought it was just going to be the four heroes with movies: Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, and Hulk, this proved false with the additions of Black Widow and Hawkeye. Could we see other something similar with the Defenders?

Also, Luke Cage, Daredevil, and Iron Fist are members of the New Avengers alongside Winter Soldier, Hawkeye, and the recently rumored Doctor Strange and Ms. Marvel. This also follows reports that New Avengers is where Marvel currently thinks they will go after Avengers 3 unless Robert Downey Jr. signs on for more movies.

The Defenders roster includes Hulk, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Namor, Doctor Strange, Captain America, Scarlet Witch, The Vision, Ghost Rider, War Machine, Guardians of the Galaxy's Drax the Destroyer and referenced hero Nova, SIlver Surfer, and Black Panther.
