In news that should make action-film fans happy, the legendary Cynthia Rothrock and Jason Statham were among those inducted into the International Sports Hall Of Fame in Columbus, Ohio on March 1, 2014.

The induction was one of the main events of the Arnold Sports Festival, which is run by action icon Arnold Schwarzenegger and ran from February 27 to March 2 this year.

The Arnold Sports Festival has become the world’s largest annual sports weekend, hosting 150,000 attendess and over 18,000 competing athletes.

Other 2014 inductees included Lee Haney, Dan Gable, Joe Weider, Betty Weider, and Ben Weider.

Both Rothrock and Statham are, of course, no-brainers.

Rothrock's personal accomplishments boggle the mind - Black Belts in six disciplines, 5-year undefeated World Champion, lead in 43 action films - and, as a result, it is no surprise she has now become only the second woman overall (bodybuilder Cory Everson was the first) and first female martial artist to be into the International Sports Hall of Fame.

A legitimate martial artist, having studied Wing Chun kung fu, karate and kickboxing. He has become a household name worldwide by starring in films such as: "Revolver", "Snatch", "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels", "The Italian Job", "The Transporter", "Death Race", "Crank", "The Bank Job" and "War"

He has also starred with Sylvester Stallone and other action icons in both "Expendables" films and will be in the third installment, due out this year.

"I am very honored to be the first female martial artist inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame", says Rothrock.

The indomitable Rothrock started filming on a new movie, "Prison Raid", the next day and will follow that up with "The Martial Arts Kid", a picture co-headlined by Don "The Dragon" Wilson.

But with Rothrock hanging around three Expendables in Schwarzenegger, Statham and Randy Couture this past weekend, chances of her appearing in a fourth installment of the franchise and co-starring with one of them may have just increased substantially.

Either way, it was a heck of a weekend for action fans, as two unquestioned icons got their due.

The woman is amazing!
