So Fantastic Four is getting a bona fide reboot. Don't believe me? Well Matthew Vaughn (who directed Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class) who is producing the new movie has given us a promise.
It's nearly a decade after we had Tim Story's version with Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, Michael Chiklis and Ioan Gruffudd, which wasn't too bad in my opinion, but Producer Matthew Vaughn obviously thought it was total rubbish:
"Its a total reboot, that's for sure. It's got nothing to do with the other bloody ones. It's not stretchy guy and a guy running around in rock that looks like it's made polystyrene. And its not a comedy."
So it's not a comedy then. Got it.
Josh Trank (Chronicle) is the guy directing the new Fantastic Four, and there has been a buzz around about his bold casting choices. Invisible Woman/Sue Storm will be played by House of Cards actress Kate Mara. Chronicle actor Michael B. Jordan will be Johnny Storm/The Human Torch. Jamie Bell, who is still best known for his turn as a ballet dancer in Billy Elliot, is Ben Grimm/The Thing, and Whiplash actor Miles Teller is Reed Richards a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic.
What do you think? Do you think these guys are game to take on Marvel's beloved characters?
