Lori Grimes (Sarah Wayne Callies) was perhaps the most vilified character back in Season 2 of AMC's The Walking Dead. But was all the fan hatred that the character received actually deserved?
Apart from being a terrible wife sometimes, Lori wasn't always the model mother. Most often it seems that she was worrying about herself or Rick over Carl (can someone please keep an eye on that kid?). That said, this woman was living in a zombiepocalypse... So, really, who the hell are WE to judge!?
Either way, it's not really a great surprise that one of the fan questions during the last Talking Dead was "Do you think Michonne would be a better mother figure to Carl than Lori?" Over the past few months on The Walking Dead, Michonne and Carl have developed a very special relationship, leaving us fans wondering if he'd be better off in Michonne's care.
New walking dead cast member Michael Cudlitz doesn't think so. The actor, who plays Sgt. Abraham Ford on the AMC show, pulled this defence for Lori's mothering skills out of the bag:
I'd readily admit that I do love seeing Carl and Michonne's little talks, but she's not as nurturing as Lori was to Carl. Do you think Michonne is a better mother figure for Carl? Let me know in your thoughts in the comment section below!
