Were you watching The Oscar's 2014 and feeling a sneaking sense of déjà vu as the preened actresses sashayed across the red carpet? Don't worry, it wasn't that 4th glass of wine you chucked back playing tricks on you. This year brought out a bumper crop of dresselgängers and I've managed to identify a few!

Jennifer Lawrence and Michelle Williams

Jennifer Lawrence's stunning strapless red Dior number topped all of the best dressed lists, but it does look strikingly similar to Michelle Williams' Louis Vuitton frock from The Oscars 2012. Strip off all of those unnecessary frills and bows and you pretty much have JLaw's minimalist masterstroke.

Cate Blanchett and Jennifer Lopez

Although these two lovely ladies are generally polar opposites on the style stakes, Cate Blanchett's stunning Armani Prive creation had more than a hint of Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad about it. This pair shows how versatile sheer nudes can be, JLo is bringing the sex, but Blanchett gives off an air of pure sophistication.

Kate Hudson and Gwyneth Paltrow

Its no wonder Kate Hudson was eager to channel one of Gwyneth Paltrow's iconic Tom Ford stunners. These two sleek ice maidens ooze a golden era sophistication, which is no mean feat considering Hudson's daring Atelier Versace neckline.

Anne Hathaway and... Herself

Oh Anne Hathaway, I don't understand why the press has decided to dislike you so much, but this red carpet move hasn't really helped to shift your beige image! The sparkling, disco-ball look is definitely edgy... But not when you do it twice in the space of a year.

Sandra Bullock and Kristen Stewart

Sandra Bullocks stunning velveteen Alexander McQueen gown was one of my favourites in the bunch, but it does look surprisingly similar to Kristen Stewarts look in 2010. Naturally the doyenne of darkness, KStew chose a more midnight shade!

Angelina Jolie and Scarlett Johansson

Fashion Goddess Angelina Jolie made sure to pick a unique little number from Elie Saab, but her choice of designer might have been her downfall. Scarlett Johansson also stole the show in Saab at the Golden Globes in 2011, so the look does look a little less original than Ange would like.

Jessica Biel and Sandra Bullock

Jessica Biel looked like a shimmering mermaid in Chanel this year and her metallic shine made this Sandra Bullock stunner spring to mind. Bullock rocked this look with natural hair in 2010, but there is no denying it looks just as fresh today.

Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence

The American Hustle co-stars have more than just a movie in common. Amy Adam's regal royal blue Gucci Couture has definite echoes of Lawrence's Christian Dior delight at the Screen Actors Guild Award last year.

Lupito Nyong'o and Cinderella

Lupito Nyong'o is such a fashion trailblazer that I couldn't think of a single award ceremonies dress that reminded me of hers. After juggling with my distinct déjà vu I realised she looks just like Cinderella. Right from the powder blue colour to the headband and earrings, Nyong'o is every inch a punchy princess!
